Monika Onoszko:
"I did this linocut at the beginning of the pandemic when I finally found the time to pour my rage on paper. Abortions rights were violated in Poland and we had to fight for our rights. We still do. But it is not only about abortion, it is about deciding about our bodies in general. Reports about violating women's rights around the world are shocking. The pandemic has only made matters worse, with domestic violence and unplanned pregnancies rising. Many cases of domestic violence are not even punished because so many countries lack laws allowing for the punishment of marital rapes!!! In more than 30 countries, women cannot even go outside their homes by themselves. Hundreds of millions of women and girls do not decide when they want or not to have sex, or about using contraception. Their lives are run by others. Do we live in a modern world?"
