L’origine du Monde - ORIGIN OF THE WORLD

$80.00

Two cities that I love made the image of "L'origine du Monde" forever remembered and lived in my head for years before I finally put it on paper. Paris and its Musee d'Orsay, with Courbet's voluptuous work, and Sao Paulo, awakened my love for Brazilian art. In particular, Vik Muniz, whose "L'origine du monde" I love no less than the original. The “Origin of the World” was a scandal in 1866 when the public saw it for the first time. Despite the fact that today it doesn’t arouse such emotions, it is still considered provocative. Here is my own version of Courbet's work, the interpretation of which I leave to the viewer.
